David Whelan has a passion for finding sustainable solutions to real world problems. His experience is backed up by more than 20 years direct engineering work in the semiconductor capital equipment, electronics and recycling industries.
David focuses on the development of Sustainability Policy, Innovation and Strategy implementation using the tried and trusted methodologies of Lean Manufacturing, Process Optimisation, Systems Thinking and Project Management to make sense of the carbon constrained world. He has a Bachelor of Science (BSc. Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Dublin Institute of Technology/Trinity College Dublin and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from The Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, University College Dublin.
Caithriona McCarthy spent a number of years working freelance advising small Irish development organisations on sustainable business development. This led her into the area of Adult Education and she now spends her time working both on sustainability based projects and teaching Sustainable Horticulture and Entrepreneurship at Westport College of Further Education (WCFE) in Co Mayo. Caithriona is a Co-Founder of the Edible Landscape Project.
Caithriona holds a BA from University College Dublin (UCD) and a PG Dip. in Business Studies from The Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business (UCD). In 2014 Caithriona graduated with an MSc. in Organic Farming from the University of Glasgow and in 2015 she completed a Permaculture Design Certificate with Geoff Lawton’s Permaculture Institute.
